Fares and Tickets

There are many different fares and ticket types to choose from and we've listed the options here to explain the differences. Although there's a lot of information, it's worth reading through to find the cheapest fare for your journey.

  • Local Bus Fares in the Brecon Beacons

Most of the local bus routes centred on Brecon are contracted by Powys County Council, which sets the level of fares.  On other routes, the fares are determined by the operator.  These fare details were checked on 6th May 2011 but the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority can take no responsibility for their accuracy.

  Adult Single Fares

Single Fares are available on all routes from the driver and are, generally, calculated on the mileage between the start and finish stops for the journey in question.

  Adult Return Fares

Return fares are available from the driver on most routes for out and back journeys between two stops on the same day.  Generally, the Return Fare is 1.5 – 1.75 times the Single Fare.  Note that for longer journeys it may be cheaper to purchase an unlimited travel, all day ticket of some kind (see below).
