The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority runs National Park Knowledge – a specially designed training scheme for local taxi drivers. Taxi drivers from Brecon and Abergavenny have attended the course which focuses on offering visitors information on local history, activities and attractions, festivals and events.
Drivers who have attended the course are listed in the panel and also display a special sticker in their cabs, so you can identify them.
The course will be rolled out to other towns within the National Park in due course.
Meeting Points
The main meeting points used by walkers in the National Park have been identified and given a unique identity number which you can see on our interactive map. Specially marked maps were given to the taxi drivers attending the National Park Knowledge course, so walkers can now plan their routes and arrange a pick-up before they set off, without any confusion over place names or locations, or problems with mobile phone reception.
Baggage Transfer
