By bus: X24 bus connects Blaenavon, Abersychan, Pontypool, Cwmbran and Newport. 30 bus runs from Brynmawr to Newport via Blaenavon and calling at Big Pit.
Travelling from Abergavenny, catch X4 to Brynmawr and change to 30 to complete the journey.
